Sandra asks…

How do i drive from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi? How much is the tol and the parking fee at the jetty?

I am planning to drive to Langkawi and need to work out the travel budget. Need info on tol price and Jetty parking fee…

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

I think you can avoid the parking fee by parking at the neighborhood area nearby, just make sure you don’t block their way out. Toll is around RM55. You can have a look at the website below.

I am going to visit Malaysia(kuala lumpur and langkawi) next week inshallah for 7 days.So i need to know what are the main and beautiful places to visit in short time like 7 days.I also need to know how to go there at low cost.where is the main electronics market in kuala lumpur?….Pls help

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

I suggest u have to spend more time in KL because there are so many thing to see (4 to 5 days). Langkawi not much to see only good for relaxation and honeymoon. In Langkawi u could finish the tour in 1 or 2 days. Don’t forget to get the brouchers for KL and Langkawi the moment u reach KL International Airport so u could make earlier plan before visiting the places that u intent to go. Welcome to Malaysia. Is it possible to drive to Penang and ferry my car across to Langkawi? how much will it cost?

I’m planning a trip during december with my friends and was wondering if it is better to bring our own cars across to langkawi or rent cars there. which would be cheaper ?

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

If you want to ferry your car, too much paperwork, and takes about 3 days to get your car there (vice versa)

There are a lot of locals renting their car.
Most locals have their own resort and in the same time provide cars for daily rent.
If you’re going on December, during school holiday I presume, one day car rental (proton wira) can cost ranging about RM80 to RM120, depending on how you bargain the price.

I should say, rent car rather than bringing you own.
Call any local owned resort , negotiate the price and do your booking.

Joseph asks…

Can I take a ferry from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi?

I would like to rent a car in KL and take it on the ferry to Langkawi. Is that possible? If yes, how long is the ferry ride? Alternatively, I would like to take suggestions for the following travel plan. I like to drive maybe up to 4 hours max. Would like to see KL 2-3 days, Cameron Highlands 2-3 and Langkawi 2-3 days. Suggestions?

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

There’s is no ferry service from Mainland to Langkawi..
You can just park your car in Kuala Perlis or Kuala Kedah (will cost around RM 10-20/day)..

Then rent a car in Langkawi itself..

You need more time in Langkawi to explore the interesting places..

Steven asks…

What are the places like Langkawi near kuala lumpur ?

I am booking a hotel in kuala lumpur and I’ve heard about Langkawi that is a nice place, but it is to far from kuala lumpur . What are the other places like Langkawi ( water front Hotel) near kuala lumpur?

Kaki Cuti Cuti Malaysia answers:

If you are OK with beaches only but no island, you can go to Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan (90 km from KL). If you want to go to islands, you can go to Pangkor Island, Perak (288 km from KL).
